In October, “Latvijas attīstībai” got even more new party members, including Minister of Defense Artis Pabriks and Member of European Parliament Ivars Ijabs.
‘I’ve decided to actively participate’ in the party’s activities because I hold with it a shared view on Latvia’s future development. I feel sympathy towards classical liberal ideas that “Latvijas attīstībai” holds and I believe that this party has immense potential in Latvian politics,’ Minister of Defense Artis Pabriks commented on his decision to join “Latvijas attīstībai”.
Ivars Ijabs, Member of European Parliament: ‘I always wanted to see Latvia as a part of modern, developed and inclusive Europe. The basics of sustainable development are the ability to act decisively in easy and in hard times, whilst holding a political vision of future goals. Party “Latvijas attīstībai” combines values close for me values balance between idealism and pragmatic decision making. I also appreciate the party’s work for a long-term perspective, being able to act in society’s interests in the most important moments. The best example of this is reforms started by the government, that are solving problems of the national importance.’
To bring about the importance of active society’s participation in political processes for the sixth year in a row party “Latvijas attīstībai” is holding Month of Potential Party Members. The goal of this event is to inform those who are interested in joining the party about our work, current policies, and members.
