In the new European Parliament (2019-2024) “Attīstībai/Par!” will be represented by one Member of European Parliament (MEP) Ivars Ijabs, who plans to join the ALDE Group in the EP. As official results of the election were confirmed “Attīstībai/Par!” got 12.42 percent of votes.
Before his election, Ivars Ijabs was the Latvian University associate professor in political science, actively appearing on the public in a political analyst role. Author of several publications on democratization and political theories.
In total, 473,084 Latvian voters or 33.51 percent of all eligible voters have cast their votes in the European Parliament elections on Saturday.
